This is a rug that behaves like a painting. Blocks of soft colour overlap and interrupt one another, curved forms sit against stepped, angular ones, and the whole composition is abstract in the truest sense — no traditional motif, no repeating pattern, just balance, rhythm and colour arranged by eye. It would not look out of place beside a Klee or a Cubist collage, and that is exactly the point.
The palette is its quiet triumph: sage green, dusty blue, lilac, blush, mustard and taupe, grounded with the occasional note of near-black. Muted and sophisticated rather than bright, it is colour handled with real restraint — the kind of piece that holds a room together instead of shouting across it.
It is newly hand-knotted in 100% wool by the women artisans we work with in Morocco, hand-spun and hand-dyed using our traditional vat-dyeing process. Every colour you see was mixed and dyed by hand, and the design drawn freehand at the loom — which is why it has a warmth and irregularity no printed or machine-made rug can imitate. We would rather make one honest, human piece than a hundred flawless copies.

I saw this rug many months ago and loved the pattern so much! I needed it in a runner size which was not listed as an option. Time passed and I kept thinking about this rug and just could not find anything else that was as perfect for my space as this rug with the beautiful and vibrant colors. I eventually noticed that somewhere it was written that they would custom make sizes for their customers. I emailed immediately.
