Carnival (3'6" x 9'10") – Authentic Vintage Moroccan Runner

Magenta and teal, set directly against each other — the single most confident colour pairing in this collection. A hot crimson-pink ground runs the length of the rug; a band of bright turquoise frames it on all four sides. Neither colour backs down, and the tension between them is the whole point.

Down the centre sit three large medallions, each a dense cluster of stepped diamonds and hooked arms in black, navy and grey. Study them and small details emerge: red-white-and-blue eye-diamonds studded throughout, each ringed in saffron, and an ivory cartouche at the heart of every medallion holding a fine knotted motif in red and teal. The border carries a black-and-white scrolling vine that keeps the whole busy field in check.

At 3'6" wide this is broader than a standard runner, and nearly ten feet long — proportions that are genuinely hard to find. A narrow runner would look mean carrying colour this bold; this one has the width to hold it.

We buy rugs like this because we would rather sell one honest, irregular, human-made piece than a hundred flawless machine copies. It was hand-knotted in Morocco decades ago, it has already lived a life, and there is not another one anywhere.
