Cobalt (4'2" x 7'0") – Authentic Vintage Moroccan Rug

A deep cobalt-blue ground, and drawn across it in red, a loose lattice — a few horizontal and vertical lines dividing the field into large, uneven compartments, wandering slightly off-true the way a hand-drawn line does. A scatter of small red marks fills the spaces, and near one end a few flashes of orange break through. That is the whole design, and it is enough. This is a rug that says one bold thing and says it well.

The blue is what makes it rare. Vintage Moroccan weaving lives in reds, creams and natural browns; a saturated cobalt ground at this scale is genuinely uncommon, and against it the red lattice reads almost like a modernist painting — Rothko by way of the Atlas Mountains. It looks like something made this decade. It was not.

The pile is deep and chunky, soft and full underfoot, and every wandering line and scattered mark belongs to one weaver working freehand, without a pattern to follow. That is where the character comes from, and it is why no second rug like it exists.
