A single great lozenge, drawn in nested lines of burnt orange and deep forest green, laid across a ground of madder red. Inside it and around it the weaver has scattered eight-point stars, stepped diamonds and small crossed motifs — dozens of them, none quite matching, each one a symbol carried down through generations of Berber weaving.
What sets this rug apart is the pile. It is low and tightly worked, which is the only way geometry this fine can hold its line. Where a shag rug blurs, this one stays sharp — you can read every point of every star.
Down each side runs a chain of linked motifs in green and orange, framing the field like a margin note. At the base, the original fringe survives, faded now to a soft rose-cream.
We buy rugs like this because we would rather sell one honest, irregular, human-made piece than a hundred flawless machine copies. It was hand-knotted in Morocco decades ago, it has already lived a life, and there is not another one anywhere.

I saw this rug many months ago and loved the pattern so much! I needed it in a runner size which was not listed as an option. Time passed and I kept thinking about this rug and just could not find anything else that was as perfect for my space as this rug with the beautiful and vibrant colors.
