Horizon (5'0" x 10'8") – Authentic Vintage Moroccan Flatweave Rug

Stripes, the full width and the full length — but not quiet ones. Bands of bright cobalt blue alternate with dusty terracotta and deep black, each one edged with a fine scalloped line that softens it into a gentle rick-rack rather than a hard rule. It is bold, rhythmic and, despite being woven decades ago, looks like something a contemporary textile designer might have drawn.

The blue is the thing. Vivid cobalt is uncommon in vintage Moroccan weaving — the tradition leans on red, cream and natural brown — and set against warm terracotta and black it gives this rug a graphic, confident energy that most pieces of its age simply do not have.

It is a flatweave — no pile, woven flat and reversible — so all that colour comes with none of the bulk. It lies flush to the floor, clears doors a shag rug would jam, takes a rolling chair, and is light and simple to keep. At more than ten feet long, that practicality matters: a pile rug this size is a serious thing to handle, and this is not.
