Lodestar (4'6" x 7'5") – Authentic Vintage Moroccan Rug

Deep red, almost the whole way across, deep enough and plush enough that you would call it a plain rug — until your eye reaches the centre. There, alone in all that red, sits a single small diamond: one black-outlined lozenge with a pale heart, no bigger than a coin, and the only motif on the entire rug. A weaver's mark, perhaps, or a signature, or simply one moment of decoration in a field she otherwise left bare. It is charming precisely because it stands alone.

Down each long edge runs a thin dark stripe, framing the red like a fine border, and across the field the colour drifts gently — a lighter band above, a deeper one below — the soft abrash of hand-dyed wool. The pile is deep, dense and soft, the kind of shag you feel before you look.

This restraint — a strong colour, a plush pile, and one small quiet gesture — is harder to find than any busy pattern, and easier to live with. It has all the warmth of a red rug and none of the noise.
