Twelve bands of colour, stacked one on another like bolts of cloth in a Marrakech souk — ice blue, crimson, coral, mustard, olive and a deep oxblood at the base. Across every band, small eight-point stars and crosses are scattered in contrasting shades: cornflower blue, moss green, rose, cream. These are Berber protective symbols, and the weaver placed them by eye, never in quite the same rhythm twice.
This is a rag rug in the truest sense. Rather than a single dyed lot, the weaver worked with the yarns she had — reclaimed, gathered, saved — which is exactly why the palette moves the way it does. Decades on, those colours have softened into something no new rug can imitate.
We buy pieces like this because we would rather sell one honest, irregular, human-made rug than a hundred flawless machine copies. It was woven by hand in Morocco, it has already lived a life, and there is not another one anywhere.

I saw this rug many months ago and loved the pattern so much! I needed it in a runner size which was not listed as an option.
